Pre-School (2 to 5 year olds)

“We love The Hamlet, and Early Explorers Preschool. We've been using this wonderful place for 3 1/2 years now. It's made such a difference for our daughter, and us as a family. The staff are all amazing and it is clearly not just a job for them. Thank you!” – Elle a parent.

"Staff support children's communication and language development skilfully. They carefully adapt the support they provide to meet the needs of children at different stages of development." Ofsted September 2019.

Early Explorers is a pre-school for children aged 2 – 5 years old. It runs from Monday to Friday during term time between 9.15am – 2.15pm. There is a maximum of 14 children per session.

We prioritise providing pre-school provision for children with additional or complex health needs, as well as those children that are typically developing and living in our local catchment area. It is our belief that this diverse and inclusive mix of children provides a rich learning environment.

The pre-school offers a safe and secure environment both indoors and outdoors, in which children can freely explore and learn through a wide variety of play experiences.

Our highly experienced and qualified staff implement the Early Years Foundation Stage. Our aim with the  pre-school is to provide inspiring activities, which enable the children to learn through their own interests and needs. Using observations and careful planning, we deliver a high quality learning environment based around children's play. We also value the contribution and knowledge of parents and encourage regular discussions about their child's progress and individual learning journeys.
