The course is an interactive 2-hour session giving the learner an insight into disability. Learners will take part in practical activities and discussions which will encourage them to think about ways of behaving and communicating with those who may have a disability.
• To identify types and causes of disability.
• To understand the social and medical models of disability.
• To consider the effect of a disability on each individual person.
• To participate, show understanding and consider the effects of disability and how to overcome and minimize their effect.
Learners will be observed throughout the course and will be required to fully participate and show they have an understanding. Learners will receive a certificate of attendance.
Our trainers have experience of working with children and adults at our centres and have in-depth knowledge and direct experience of the needs of a range of disabilities and complex health needs.
Training can be delivered from our training room at our Head office, St Leonards Road, Norwich or we can come to your setting to deliver training. All our training is tailored to suit your particular needs.
