Are you available for a couple of hours a week on an ongoing basis, to help support the work of our brilliant team? You need to be confident talking to people face to face and, on the phone, making them feel welcome at The Hamlet.
Volunteering with us is an experience that is rewarding in many ways. It is a fantastic opportunity to support our work with children and adults with disabilities and their families, making a difference to their lives. You will learn new skills and make new friends.
Below are a few of the tasks that you will complete in the Volunteer Receptionist role:
- Answering the phone,
- Relaying messages to staff members,
- Welcoming and checking in guests and users,
- Basic admin tasks such as photocopying
While you don’t need any formal training, we ask that you would be confident in completing the above tasks independently.
Shifts will be broken up into 2-hour sessions, but if you’re able to volunteer for more than one session a day/week, that’s great!
Please send completed Expression of Interest forms to firstname.lastname@example.org
The Hamlet is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment
All volunteer positions working with children are subject to satisfactory references and a DBS check.
Note: There is a small admin fee payable to the company that processes our checks by the volunteer.
