Student restoration project hits Norwich market

For the past 14 weeks a group of four students from Ella Road, have been taking part in a project restoring old pieces of furniture and making crafts using recycled materials. The team, led by the initiative of Activity Lead Rob Milbourne, have made their own designs, experienced using hand tools, and decorated their restored items with love and care.

The project culminated in Rob making it possible for students to have their own market stall at the infamous Norwich market on Monday 17th December.

Rob commented "This has been a fantastic project to work on and the students have really thrived off of the experience. It was great going to the market to sell our products because it was something different and a real opportunity for all involved."

Adult centre manager Lorraine said "Rob and his team have done a great job on this project. They have been able to get out into the local community and share their achievements with the general public. This is fantastic!"

Rob continued "The students really had a sense of purpose with what they were doing and at the market we definitely felt proud to be able to promote The Hamlet and all that we do at Ella Road. I personally felt so proud to say that I am part of The Hamlet charity."

Rob and the students want to continue with the work they have been doing so look out for more products made and sold by the students in the future.
