This year The Hamlet applied for funding from Almary Green to have eye-gaze sessions for children and adults who attend at The Hamlet. Almary Green is an award winning firm of independent financial advisers helping individuals and businesses throughout East Anglia and beyond. The Hamlet was successful with their bid and awarded the funding!
On Tuesday 20th November centre managers Lorraine and Emily attended the Almary Green Awards presentation evening, where they were able to share about the work The Hamlet provides and how the funding will make a difference to some of our children and adults.
The award will be used to provide a number of sessions over the year with an Eye-Gaze specialist to enable us to use this equipment to its full potential. The sessions are an opportunity to provide individual assessments and support to access the Eye Gaze system. It will help individuals to explore and make their marks on the world with intelligent and personalised intervention, whilst also equipping staff with the knowledge to support future sessions and planning. The sessions will use a person-centered approach which seeks to unlock the instinct to explore, create, interact and communicate for those with complex health needs.
Emily commented: "It is great to be supported by Almary Green and the award with contribute to our work, enabling our children, young people and adults another way of communicating choices and feelings."
Lorraine reiterated this and said: "The technology is amazing and has unlocked a new world for many or our adults and children with limited movement and multi-sensory impairments."
A big thank you to Almary Green for supporting The Hamlet Charity.
