Seven members of staff at The Hamlet Charity have decided to do a skydive as a way of raising funds and shouting out about how much they love the charity.
Lead organiser of the skydive Rob Milbourne said “It is also going to be a great personal experience and group experience for those of us doing it. Collectively we are all hoping that we raise over £2000 for The Hamlet which I know is a big ask, but I really have faith in people’s generosity when it comes to supporting us.”
Rob, an activity co-ordinator at The Hamlet adult centre, is always looking for new innovative ways to support the students better and provide them with the very best opportunities. Rob added: “I have quite elaborate ideas and hopes for the students but these cost money! I hope funds raised can mean that I can make some of my crazy ideas possible! I’m feeling a little apprehensive about jumping out of a plane at 13,000 feet, but I just know it’s all going to be worthwhile!”
Adult Centre manager Lorraine Ewing spoke highly of her staff saying: “It’s so great that Rob’s fundraising idea has been embraced by so many other staff members. It shows me what a great team they are and how lucky I am to have them. They are utterly mad, but I am so pleased that they are literally going above and beyond to support our fantastic charity!”
Divers Rob, Polly, Lauren, Scarlett, Louise, Jazz and Poppy are hoping to take the plunge on Sunday 30th June weather permitting on the day.
