Stay and Play for all under 5 year olds.

Hamlet Children's Service Manager Jayne is thrilled to announce that the 'Little Bees' stay and play sessions are back for families with children who are under 5. Jayne said, "After a long time of running sessions remotely via Zoom, I am pleased that we have been able to start the sessions again this Autumn term. With a state of the art sensory room, soft play and specialist play lead, Charlie on hand to support the sessions, children and families are loving coming and it's a joy to see the children play and have fun."
Stay and Play for all under 5 year olds.

Our Little Bees groups give parents the chance to attend sessions together and to take part in activities such as sensory, messy, physical play along side their child as a way of encouraging and supporting their child’s learning and development. The sessions offer the opportunities to play with different toy and resources and use our superb facilities.

Leon, Daddy to Ivy who attends one of the sessions said, “We find the stay and play groups to be very friendly and encouraging for children and parents to meet others. It’s a simple way to share tips and ideas and to make new friends. Staff are very polite, friendly and welcoming too. It’s a fantastic place that we enjoy coming to with our girls”.

Each group is designed to support the parents/carers to get out of the house, to meet other parents and share experiences, Children also benefit from this by having a change of scenery and a chance to meet and play with other children.

Jenny, mum to Otis who has been attending the stay and play sessions said, "There are always a variety of different activities set out in the rooms so lots of choice. We have been coming to the sessions for the last year and it’s amazing how much my son has grown in confidence during this time. I also find it a relaxed space where I can talk to staff about everything that is going on not just in my child’s life but in my own. It is a safe place to discuss worries and concerns and to get advice and suggestions. Going to The Hamlet each week has been so beneficial to my son’s development and mine as a parent, they are a listening ear when you need them”.

Another parent Matthew, who has been attending with his son on a Tuesday morning said, "The sensory room is one of the best I have ever seen and the fact that you can hire for your own personal use is just brilliant. I was able to meet with our health visitor there and use the specialist equipment to explore some new ways to support my little boy."
