Chief Executive Officer

We are looking for an outstanding CEO to lead an established local charity providing recreational, educational and social opportunities for children and young adults with profound disabilities, complex health needs and challenging behaviours.

Established in 1972, The Hamlet offers a wide range of services to support over 500 families each year from across Norfolk. These services promote integration and inclusion by breaking down barriers that often exist for people with disabilities.    The Hamlet believes people with disabilities and complex health needs deserve to be valued for who they are. This means being given the chance to explore choice, communicate, unlock potential and take new opportunities.

The current CEO is moving on at the end of November, and the Trustees wish to appoint a dynamic and inspirational leader who will build on previous successes and drive the charity forward.

Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the successful candidate will:

  • be an experienced senior leader with a proven track record of service delivery;
  • build strong and lasting relationships with key stakeholders;
  • be prepared to take a hands-on approach to strategic and operational matters;
  • have a proven track record of high quality service delivery, ideally in the voluntary sector or
    in social / health care;
  • demonstrate a firm understanding of governance, risk, and the regulatory landscape;
  • be financially literate with a strong awareness of the current socio-economic environment;
  • have a passion for the Hamlet’s vision and values.

To the successful candidate we can offer a significant starting salary, a flexible working environment, and a committed team of staff and volunteers.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the charity into its next stage, making a real difference to the lives of children and young people with complex disabilities and their families.

Please read the Application Notes and Job Description below for full details of the role.
