We are looking for energetic and enthusiastic Play Workers to work on our weekend and school holiday play schemes, for children and young people with disabilities. We will provide all the training you need and support you to reach your full potential as a Play Worker, so experience is not always necessary. You need to be physically fit and resilient as well as having enthusiasm, energy and a strong belief in every child’s right to take part and have opportunities to play. You will use your imagination and sense of fun to make every play scheme special. You need to be willing to attend training at weekends and some evenings as well as completing online courses to enable you to offer the best care possible to the children and young people you support. You will be a team player who is responsible and takes commitment seriously and will not let the children or your team down. Above all you must be willing to play, let your hair down and have fun!
We are looking for people who can commit to working some hours during each school holiday (including half terms) and some weekends, and we ask that all Play Workers work at least once every 6 weeks.

Post: Short Breaks Play Worker
Based at: The Hamlet Children’s Centre
Hours: Casual hours: Monday – Saturday during School Holidays, and Saturday’s during term time.
Salary: National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage depending on age

Purpose and Scope of the Role
To support our playschemes for children with disabilities at our Children’s Centre at weekends and during the school holidays. Supporting children to play as well as caring for their personal needs such as feeding, toileting and dressing. Activities for the children take place both at the centre and in the local area.
The children are between 3 and 18 years old.
