Support Worker - Adult Service

We are looking for people who are interested in joining our team of support workers at The Hamlet Adult Centre!

Due to increased care packages we now have the opportunity to recruit more support workers at The Hamlet Adult Service!

The role is working within our adult day service.  We are looking for committed, friendly, patient individuals, with good communication skills, who are able to build positive relationships with our Hamlet Users.

Do you have experience of caring / supporting people in either a professional or personal situation? Or do you have the passion to want to gain this experience?

Can you demonstrate an enthusiasm, energy and want to get involved in activities?

Are you physically fit, an excellent team player with a flexible approach to your work?

Do you understanding the importance for Hamlet Users to be given choice, to be involved, to have fun and socialise, to gain have new experiences and be given opportunities?

Do you have the ability to communicate with a wide range of people of differing abilities?

Do you have an understanding of the experiences of disabled people and their families, and an appreciation of the barriers to inclusion that they may face?

Role Details

Role 1: 36 hours over 5 days per week (full time)

Role 2: 21 hours over 3 days per week (part time)

Rate of pay: National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage dependant on age

Purpose and Scope of the Role

The Hamlet Adult Services provide support to young adults with disabilities and complex health needs through a wide range of individual and group activities at Ella Road and within the community.   The post holder will work on a one-to-one basis with Hamlet Users and their specific needs / activities as well as  supporting  in a group setting.   We aim to ensure that Hamlet Users, whatever their ability, can take as full a part as possible in their chosen activities.

Supporting our Safeguarding Commitment:

You will be required to hold a satisfactory Enhanced DBS check and have supplied at least 2 satisfactory references before starting work. Any conviction or adverse report relating to care, children, vulnerable adults, or dishonesty would make a candidate unsuitable for this role.
