Full Time Support Worker (Adult Services)

The Hamlet are looking for a Support Worker with experience of supporting people with autism and the challenges individuals face with routines, behaviour, communication and social engagements.

We are looking for a full time Support Worker to work at The Hamlet in our vibrant and caring service. You will support young adults with learning disabilities and complex health needs through a wide range of activities within the centre and local community.

You will work in a lively and passionate service, working on a one to one basis with students with specific needs, but will also support students in a small group setting. 

Purpose and scope of the role: 

To  support  young adults with disabilities and autism through a wide range activities within the centre and local community. To work on a one to one basis with students with specific needs, but will also support students in a small group setting. To ensure that students, whatever their ability, are able to take as full a part as possible in their chosen activities, enabling independence and enjoyment.

 

Hours: 36 hours per week

Salary: £15,295.20 per annum

Closing Date: Monday 27th August 2018 (noon)

1st Interviews: Thursday 6th September 2018

Successful candidates will:

  • Have some experience of care provision in a personal or professional context
  • Have an understanding of and empathy with needs of young people with disabilities and complex health needs
  • Be calm and enthusiastic
  • Be flexible
  • Be 18 years of age or over
