MUSA STORY - PRESCHOOL

For one family, finding The Hamlet has been more than discovering a preschool - it has meant finding a place filled with warmth, support and belonging.

The family first discovered The Hamlet after being signposted by a practitioner shortly after moving to the UK. Before joining preschool, Musa attended Sensory Bees sessions, and it quickly became clear they had found somewhere special.

“Our son loved it so much,” mum explains. “We also received amazing love and support from The Hamlet’s team, so we didn’t think twice when an opportunity presented itself for Musa to join the preschool. It is a decision we have never regretted.”

Finding the Right Place

Starting preschool was a huge step for Musa.

“At the beginning, there was real concern about how well Musa would cope.”

But those worries soon began to fade.

“I knew right away that The Hamlet would be the right fit for Musa. The staff, security, environment and the equipment charmed us right away. It felt right to be here.”

One moment especially stayed with mum.

“On the third day after starting preschool, I dropped Musa off. Musa looked at me and didn’t cry. I felt silly. Wait a minute, what just happened?” she recalls. “Musa looked comfortable, at home, and that put my heart at ease. I could finally say, ‘this is the right place.’”

Support Every Step of the Way

The family say the support they receive extends far beyond preschool sessions alone.

“We appreciate how The Hamlet signposts us to various services and products that are useful not just to our child, but the entire family. The Hamlet is never short of support for me and my family.”

There have been many moments where staff have made a lasting difference.

“Recently, there have been multiple appointments with various consultants. One matter is about Musa's eating and drinking. I am grateful for how Lauren, Musa's keyworker, has been supportive and involved in contributing to Musa's wellbeing.”

Mum also praised the wider team for the role they play in supporting Musa's development.

“I also appreciate how Teegan, Sam, Jade and Dee—to name just a few—have all played a part in Musa's development. And not forgetting Matty, who always welcomes Musa with a smile each morning.

“The Gruffalo show was one activity that was thoroughly enjoyed, and there was a real sense of being included in every activity.”

Growing in Confidence

Since joining The Hamlet, the family have seen huge changes in Musa's confidence and social development.

“Musa has become more welcoming to people within Musa's space and has become more confident interacting with people as Musa's social circle grows. Musa used to struggle with this but is becoming more assertive in communicating Musa's wishes.”

Mum says the impact of The Hamlet has been clear through the progress Musa has made.

“Seeing Musa's progress and development, we know that this is due to The Hamlet’s contribution to Musa's daily life.”

“The support we've received is clearly making it easier for Musa to grow in confidence and independence. It brings warmth to my heart and reassurance that Musa can do just about anything.”

"Family, Fun, Peace"

When asked what they love most about The Hamlet, the answer came easily:

“The people. The warmth. The love we receive.”

And if they had to describe The Hamlet in three words?

“Family, Fun, Peace.”

Their message to other parents considering The Hamlet is:
